Was a practicing CA and into software consulting in the 80's. He had extensive experience in the Pharma Industry and was also on the board of Cipla. Gave up a lucrative career and life in Mumbai to bring change in education. Over the years, Mr Raghavan has helped start 18+ schools, prior to which he taught in severals schools, starting from teaching the poor in Dharavi, Mumbai, all the way to teaching in Kodai International, rated as one of the top-rated IB schools in India.

Aruna Raghavan

MA, MPhil, Education Scientist And Writer

She was a sub-editor at the Times of India, before deciding to dedicate her life to education. She has extensive teaching experience with various schools, most notably Kodai International, teaching under several educational boards such as SSC, ICSE, CBSE, IG, and IB. She is also the author of the widely read and appreciated book ‘Your Child Can Be A Genius’, published by the Indian Express, which also honoured her with a Women’s Achievement Award in 2003.

Rahul Desai
A computer engineer with a keen interest in history, music, reading, and movies. After working for around 7 years in the software industry and a stint in the US, Rahul worked in the HR industry for around 15 years. Eventually, he ventured in education by coaching engineering students on employability skills across villages of Maharashtra. After working for 3 years with engineering students, he realized that coaching an adult child is futile, as the child is already corrupted by the system at that age... It must begin earlier, much earlier...  in preschool.

Rajesh Kumar Tiwari
With a Ph.D. (Finance), University of North Texas, PGDM (IIM-Ahmedabad), Rajesh Has over 35 years of experience in banking and investment. Held key positions at senior level in AXIS Bank (Head of All India Corporate Credit) and Unit Trust of India (Fund Manager and Head of Equity Research). He was advisor to Ruane Cunniff & Goldfarb, a reputed New York-based fund house, which manages $28bn AUM in equities. Acacia Partners, their global fund advised by Rajesh Tiwari had $2 bn invested in India till recently. Rajesh is now an entrepreneur in the fields of Asset Management and School education.

Acacia Partners, their global fund advised by Gautami had $2 bn invested in India till recently. She received an award from LIPPER for best performing banking fund. She is now an entrepreneur in the fields of Asset Management and School education.

Sushila Narayanswamy
A commerce graduate, Sushila loves science and has over 20 years of experience in education. Founder and Head of Primrose school at Juhu in Mumbai for last 20 years, she has been spreading this innovative method of teaching to toddlers for years. Apart from pre-primary, Primrose is known for making young children learn all about the world through their GK classes and for the highly effective reading and creative writing classes. She has conducted more than 80 workshops for parents and counseled innumerable parents.

Ashish Panjwani
An Electronics engineer with an MBA finance, a marathon runner and a tennis player. After working for a few years in the software industry, he has been working in HR consulting and executive search for last 17 years. A young professional and fitness freak, he has founded ‘Run India Run’, a non-profit organisation for training marathon runners through multiple centres across Mumbai. He dreams of every Lumens child being physically fit and beautiful.

The Spiritual Program
The Spiritual Program is always as an undercurrent in all rubrics. Our program subtly allows for deep reflection into the entrenched aspects of personality. The mainstay of this program are the biographies of people such as Mahatma Gandhi and Abraham Lincoln that we convert into human interest stories. We also have discussions on desires, thoughts, surroundings, traditions, circumstances, etc. that lead to the formation of the character of a person. All of the above is done without any bias or confirmation of the facilitator and with the sole purpose of opening minds and inducing wisdom.

The Emotion Program
The Emotion Program focuses on Art, Music, Drama, Dance and Stories, intricately woven into the fabric of the Physical and Intellect programs, resulting in heightened sensitivity and awareness. They attempt to invoke the sensitive elements of the individual, articulating inner feelings and expressions. These are recognised as emotion balancers necessary to promote composed advancement.

The Intellect Program
The Integrated Knowledge Program (IKP) takes the child through various activities designed to provide a wide information base. It schematically uses audiovisuals to develop information from raw data. We build skill with language and boost reading competencies using books written by our educationists. This also makes it easy for children to start speaking 2nd and 3rd languages - including English - fluently. Spellings are taught using patterns that make it easier for children to learn them. Furthermore, we develop proficiency in Math through an engaging use of flashcards and games, while augmenting aptitudes for observation and analysis through science experiments.

The Physical Program
As per the research by Dr Glen Domman and many renowned universities, certain physical exercises develop the brain and the five senses along with the body. Thus, our Physical Program involves a sequence of exercises gradually graded to sharpen the sensory input pathways, close neurological circuits and improve motor responses. Designed to enhance the use of specific skills, these exercises are ordered into a careful schema to ensure - intense input recording, reinforced throughput processes and organised retrieval and motor reactions. This builds up the child's physical capacity and sharpens their ability to learn easily.

The Primrose GK classes which covered linguistic, intellectual, social and kinesthetic development helped build Dev’s overall personality. Apart from this, uniqueness through sports events, science experiments and parent-child seminars, were a lot of fun mingled with learning. Those days with Primrose teachers will forever be etched in Dev’s memory.
